Following a peak in demand, Hive recently secured a significant amount of data center capacity at its main site.
This new capacity represents a potential of 30 kilowatts (KW) of power that will be deployed across the next months. This new deployment will give quicker access to the Quebec Internet Exchange and enable the possibility to deploy redundant Hive Fabric nodes to enable better reliability for critical applications.
By the same occasion, Hive will now accept non-standard equipment such as tower PCs, and small storage appliances to better respond to the needs of the average SMB migrating its production from their on-prem server room.
Finally, this new capacity will also allow new Per U customers to put in place their new deployments and not have to worry about space & power costs before 2021.
